About the Artist

Richard Beaty is a visual artist, living in Toronto, Canada. He works in oils, acrylic, encaustic, oil pastels, and other painting media, in wood, and metal. His works are in private collections in Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa, Stratford, New York, New Hampshire, in other US states, and Provinces.

Richard has worked as a shepherd & herdsman, chef (New York & Toronto), cabinetmaker, boatbuilder, musical instrument maker (harps and harpsichords), IT consultant (Royal Military College, Morgan Stanley NYC), and art studio manager (University of Toronto), continuing to create artwork throughout.

He studied with Klaas Van Weringh, with Don Maynard, at the New York Academy of Art, Centennial College, the University of Iowa and the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Venezia. He has been a member of the Arts and Letters Club (Toronto), the Art Science Collective, the Artists Network, and currently, Stratford Art in the Park. He has shown at juried exhibits at the Arts and Letters Club, Riverdale Art Walk, Kingston Collective and Open Studio, Art Noise, Nuit Blanche (Toronto), New Hampshire, and one-man exhibits at the Performing Arts Centre (Toronto), in Kingston, and Stratford, ON.
